MWANGAZA HIDEAWAY IN KILWA MASOKO

Kilwa is the most important town of the ancient Swahili coast and nestled on the hill overlooking the vast inland waterways is MWANGAZA HIDEAWAY- meaning reflection in Kiswahili.

The lodge is designed for "Fishermen and their families" to provide access to the best deep sea fishing grounds in Tanzania.

Open plan designed kitchen-dining-bar area envelop the swimming pool which has ample seating area in the pool for cocktails, long fishing stories and belly aching giggles and jokes.

The rooms have a gentle breeze drifting through them to soothe and cool ones body when resting. Sprung matresses,fluffy pillows,walk in mosquito nets and bath sheets are a must when relaxing to get that extra good nights sleep in preperation for the new days activities.

Fishing is the main attraction and many different techniques are available to choose from. Skippers are highly knowledgeable of the area and in all aspects of sport fishing in Tanzania.

Lala Salama means "sleep well"in Kiswahili, this is the house boat designed for sunset cruises up th Kilwa inland waterways where you can relax and enjoy viewing hippo's and the bird life from upstairs sofa's or from the shady downstairs area.

Mwangaza also offers trips to the sandbanks (tide dependant) where the snorkling is beautiful around the numerous coral heads. Swimming and fly-fishing is wonderful in the turquoise liquid surroundings. On the "a-la-natural" side a gently sand scrub followed with a soothing seaweed wipe is a must when on the sand banks.
